We are a family of five – mom, dad, and three kids (a teen, a toddler and one in between). With such a wide range of hobbies and ages of children, we have a lot of experience with diverse activities. For us, family always comes first. Making memories together is a priceless souvenir, whether it’s remembering a simple moment at home together or an expensive family vacation. We love to travel and explore new places, but we also love staying home, whether it be for an entire day in our pajamas playing games (we love board games and have a rather large collection) or trying something new together. Whenever we come together, we’re on Family Standard Time.

With our prior experiences in mind, we began to think about how we might be able to bring some additional “vacation” experiences into our own home. Call it a virtual vacation or a staycation; we call it making memories with fun and adventure in (or close to) our own home and on our own time. Our ideas range from simple experiences with minimal supplies needed that can be completed in only a few hours to longer “getaways” – all designed to carve out special time together to make memories without having to travel far from home. It might be something like “Backyard Olympics” with plans for games and projects to build; or a “Trip in a Day” to an international destination with local places to explore (remotely, of course), recipes to make, music playlists to listen to, and crafts to create. We are excited to share these experiences with other families who are living on Family Standard Time too and looking to create lasting memories! Along the way we may also highlight a board game or product(s) that we really like that compliment an experience.
