Cooking and baking are a big component of our Family Standard Time. Food holds a strong connection to family and to core memories. For most people, earliest memories often involve the family gathering around the table, of moms and/or grandmothers cooking favorite foods. The mere smell or thought of certain foods can elicit a visceral response. Therefore, food can be a trigger for deep-rooted memories, feelings, and emotions. Memories come back not only of the foods themselves, but where we were and who we were surrounded by.
Our family loves getting into the kitchen together – whether we’re trying out new foods or re-creating meals from cherished special occasions. Naturally, many of the activities that we’ll be posting will involve foods that can enhance the experiences, so we will share lots of those recipes along the way. You’ll always be able to reference back to this section and can easily share with friends. Whether part of a themed activity or as a standalone experience, even the simple act of bringing your family together to bake a favorite recipe can lead to cherished memories made, all while enjoying some Family Standard Time.
It’s time to cook up some memories!
